Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is a flagship scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide affordable housing to the urban poor people of India. It has a target of building 2 crore houses by 31 March 2022. On 1 February 2022, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Union Budget 2022 announced an allocation of Rs. 48,000 crore for building 80 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, both rural and urban.     What is Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) 2022?

    Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) 2022 is a flagship scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25th June 2015. It is implemented by Ministry Of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) with an objective of providing affordable houses to the financially weak and poor family of India. It has a target of building 2 crore houses by 31 March 2022. PM Awas Yojana is divided into two parts: Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) (PMAY-U) for the urban poor and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin/Rural) (PMAY-G or PMAY-R) for the rural poor.

    Eligibility of Pradhan Awas Yojana (PMAY)

    1. The age of the applicant should be between 21 to 55 years of age. 
    2. The applicant should not have a house. 
    3. The applicant should not have availed of any benefit of such scheme offered by the Central or the State Government. 
    4. The applicant must have a BPL Ration card.

    How to apply Application for PM Awas Yojana Online through Official website?

    Anyone can apply for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana through official website from the comfort of home. The following steps have to be followed:

    1. First, visit the Official website of PM Awas Yojana: https://pmaymis.gov.in
       

    2. Secondly, Select the option “Citizen Assessment” from the menu. 
    3. After selecting Citizen Assessment, a drop menu will appear. From that, select Apply Online. 


    4. After selecting Apply Online, four options will pop up: In situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR), Affordable Housing In Partnership (AHP), Beneficiary Lead Construction/Enhancement (BLC/BLCE) and Credit Link Subsidy Scheme (CLSS). 
    5. According to your eligibility, choose your appropriate option form the above four options (ISSR, AHP, BLC/BLCE, CLSS). 
    6. After selecting the option, a new window will open. Here, enter your Name as per Aadhaar and Aadhaar Number or Virtual ID. 

    7. After that, click Check button. 
    8. If the fill up Aadhaar Number and Name are correct, an application form will open after clicking the above Check button. 
    9. Fill up the Application form and submit it.

    In this way, anyone can apply online for PM Awas Yojana.

     

    How to check Application status for PM Awas Yojana?

    Any applicant for PM Awas Yojana can check the status of their application for PM Awas Yojana by following the below-mentioned steps:

    1. First, visit the Official website of PM Awas Yojana: https://pmaymis.gov.in

    2. From the Home Page, select Citizen Assessment and select Track Your Assessment Status.

    3. Next, 2 options will be available to check the Application Status: a) By Name, Father’s Name & Mobile No. (b) By Assessment ID. From this, choose your preference. 

    4. If the option By Name, father's Name & Mobile No is selected, the following window will open. Fill up all the necessary details and Click Submit. 
      5. If the option By Assessment ID is selected, the following window will open. Fill up all the details and click Submit.
      In this way, any applicant can check their Application Status for PM Awas Yojana.
